Introduction
This is the chapter you all knew was coming. We are talking about strength. The focus of this course is simply to get you into MTN Shape.
Mtn Shape is the ability to confidently head into the field or the backcountry to increase your odds of success year after year. Mtn Shape means you are aware of your biological metrics; you know your strengths and your weaknesses. Mtn Shape is being able to be relentless and limitless. When you spot that buck in that distant basin with an hour left of fading light... Mtn Shape is the ability to get there, get into position, and make a move to ensure success.
Strength is a key measurement for success in the backcountry and a key measurement of the Mtn Fit Readiness Score (MFRS). Strong athletes simply move better.
There is no question that hunters are all sorts of shapes and sizes; however, strength simply helps people move better. Being strong not only helps people live longer but also helps them live a greater quality of life.
Being strong helps you prevent injuries. Being strong enables you to recover quicker from injuries. Being strong prevents pain. There are so many health benefits of being strong, and simply put, the focus of strength in this section is to give you the required exercises to keep you hunting into your golden years.
Let me be clear the focus of this section is to target the major muscle groups that will help keep you in the game.
There are no other programs like this on the market that target specific muscle groups to keep you hunting into your golden years. Other programs often push you too hard to failure; they fail to focus on tissue recovery and healing, putting you at risk of missing out on what you are actually training for. These are rehab exercises to help you prevent injury, recover from injury and rehab injuries. These exercises give you the most bang for your buck! They are simply the best of the best when it comes to muscle recruitment and to get you on the MTN.
A lot of work has gone into this section to bring you the best to keep you going. Not only does each section cover the best exercises, but it also gives you research to back up these exercises, education on the anatomy and physiology, how it pertains to hunting, as well as a self-assessment test to see how you measure up. At the end of each section, you will be able to see how you add up to other hunters and find out what your individual MFRS is.
Now that you understand the importance of strength training for hunting, it's time to take action. Let's get started on the exercises that will keep you in the game for years to come!
